Kentucky reservists return after year in IraqLOUISVILLE, Ky. A group of National Guard soldiers back from Iraq received a hero's welcome today in Louisville. 180 members of the B Battery, 1st Battalion, 623 Field Artillery returned home this morning. More than a thousand friends and family greeted the soldiers, and many rushed out of the hangar as the soldiers stepped off the airplane. For nearly a year, the unit has provided security and convoy escorts around Baghdad. Specialist Bryan Montgomery lost his twin brother in the war in July. The Greensburg native says he's experienced a lot of ups and downs since his death. But he says being with his unit has helped him tremendously. Two soldiers from the battery, Sergeant Jonathan Hughes and Sergeant Ryan Montgomery died from roadside bombs in separate combat incidents.
