Don’t Impeach Bush
posted August 11, 2005
It wouldn’t be a good idea to impeach President George W. Bush, even though he merits impeachment and removal far more than any other American president in history.
No other president even comes close. This is the president, after all, who used the tragedy and hot blood stirred up by 9/11 to put into motion a neocon plan to attack Iraq and perform a regime change.
This is the president who fed false reasons and cooked intelligence for the illegal, premeditated, unprovoked and immoral attack on a sovereign nation to Congress, the American people, the United Nations and the world.
This is the president that has made it clear to the world that America means to change all non-democratic nations into democracies, starting with what he called the axis of evil – Iraq, North Korea and Iran.
This is the president that claims he received guidance and the go-ahead for the attack on Iraq from the man upstairs personally. This president is not one of the Blues Brothers but he still believes that he is on a mission from God.
That mission, as he sees it, is to make all nations democratic nations because democracies do not make war on their neighbors. And isn’t it amazing how Americans eat that up even though it is democratic America and its allies that have attacked two nations already and will attack as many as it takes to carry out the mission?
Bush’s mission is to kill the terrorists and bring about regime change around the world. Even if that means killing hundreds of innocent civilians for every terrorist killed. Even if that means creating hundreds of new terrorists for every terrorist killed.
There is no way that the founding fathers could have ever imagined that America would some day consider itself the anointed ruler of the world, responsible for changing all nations into democracies through war and conquest.
This is something that was never imagined by anyone except the neocons that have been working for years like maggots in the deep underbelly of American government and Republican politics.
But it still wouldn’t be a good idea to impeach Bush, even if Congress were willing to do it – which it will never be, because the majority of Congress, as the majority of Americans, are just as delusional and morally impaired as Bush, and have developed a sweet tooth for this maggot infested garbage.
They don’t call it maggot infested garbage. They call it fighting the war on terror and spreading freedom throughout the world. But it would still not be a good idea to impeach and remove Bush.
If Bush were impeached and removed, Vice President Dick Cheney, would, under the Constitution, become president.
If there is any major public office holder more morally impaired and dangerous to America and the world than Bush, it is Cheney.
It wouldn’t make much sense to impeach and remove Bush without doing the same with Cheney. The founding fathers, for all their great wisdom, never imagined two such deluded meat-heads occupying the offices of president and vice president at the same time.
It would be a little harder for that to occur if the government still operated the way they set it up before political parties changed the process. Originally the person coming in second was given the office of vice president.
A very reasonable argument against that type of selection process, of course, would be that the president has the right to treat the vice president as if he weren’t even there, if he chooses.
That would leave the vice president with nothing to do but wait for the president to be impeached and removed
And even if we could impeach and remove both of them, that would mean that the next person in line for the office of president would be Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert who claims that Bush is a wonderful president.
What good would it be to have such a Bush lover as Hastert occupy the office? It doesn’t get any better no matter how far down the line you go after that. We’re in a fix and there’s no way out of it.
And there’s no need to look to the next presidential election. There’s no hope there. The last presidential election proved that. The Democrats, as shown by their top contender, John Kerry, are just as out of it as Bush is into it. If Kerry had a vision he would have campaigned on a platform calling for the immediate withdrawal of American troops from Iraq.
But he didn’t do that. The common wisdom among the Democrats today is just as stupid as it was then. And it will be just as stupid when the next presidential election comes around.
We must remember that the common wisdom of America today recommends that we continue to eat the garbage that the maggots have seasoned up for us, and which the American people have found so tasty and good to eat.
How can it be that the vast majority of the American people can’t realize that the vast majority of the insurgents fighting in Iraq are the people of Iraq? We can refer to them as terrorists and bad guys all we want, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are fighting to gain control over their country and run the infidels out.
How can the American people not realize that our conquest of Iraq turned into an immediate civil war; with one side willing to suffer the Americans and take the democratic steps that they have been ordered to take, and the other side not yet conquered and unwilling to accept the will of America and its allies?
How can the American people eat the garbage that insists that the insurgents are just terrorists, and that terrorists are just people who hate freedom and democracy?
How can the Americans and Tony Blair’s followers believe that people who blow themselves up are just cowardly terrorists that love killing innocent people, and it’s just as simple as that.
How do you get the inmates of a nuthouse to understand that it is not as simple as that? How can you get neocons to understand that killing begets killing and that illegal war based on regime change is just as insane as terrorists that blow themselves up in hopes of taking as many people with them as they can?
How can you get the Americans and British to just stop and think and admit that they were wrong to attack Iraq and that they are still wrong to believe that we have no choice but to stay there until it has a fully operational democratic government able to defend itself against the rebels who will never accept a government forced on them and controlled by America?
How can the American people, including the Democrats, believe that we should stay in Iraq until the terrorists rebels are killed out and reduced to such a small number that the new democratic regime installed by us can defend itself without further need of our assistance?
How did the Americans and the British and their allies become so insane in the first place as to believe in such a false war as the war on terror and that the way to bring about peace in the world is through war and regime change until all the nations of the world are democracies?
The only possible explanation is that the Americans and the British and their allies have become morally impaired as a group and are just unable to think intelligently.
It’s hard to know if the fault is their own and has always been there, or if they became infected by the garbage fed to them by their political leadership and the working neocon maggots that truly believe the only way to bring about peace in the world is for America to rule the world.
For now it’s hard to know which came first, the rotted meat, the egg laying flies or the working maggots, but the stench of death is unmistakable and is getting worse by the day.
It’s way past time to clean the garbage can, but the garbage can will never be cleaned if the Americans and the British and their allies continue to enjoy the smell and the taste of the garbage.
The bottom line is that we’re in a fix with no way out, not even through impeachment, and not even through the election of a Democratic president the next time around.
Our only hope is that our appetite for war and the killing of other peoples will eventually diminish as more and more of our young are sacrificed to this bogus war on terror and whatever God it is that has been giving Bush the go-ahead.
Maybe if we can stop the fighting long enough, we can take on the task of thinking about the root causes or terror and war, and change our attitudes and our actions in such ways as to promote true peace in the world.
But don’t count on it. Bush and his neocons are probably drawing up plans for an attack on Iran even as we speak. And then there’s North Korea, the third member of that axis of evil that the neocons would probably like to take care of before his term expires.
