This is one of the worst case scenarios that I have been worried about for a couple years now. Couple this article with the fact that bu$h has been quoted as saying that "things sure would be a lot easier if I were dictator" (not exact, but that's the gist of it.) -- DURING the 2000 campaign... and you know how worried I am. I don't think they will merely postpone it... I think it will be cancelled, martial law instituted, and el pRetzeldente will be made dictator. "Exclusive: Election Day WorriesNewsweekJuly 19 issue - American counterterrorism officials, citing what they call "alarming" intelligence about a possible Qaeda strike inside the United States this fall, are reviewing a proposal that could allow for the postponement of the November presidential election in the event of such an attack, NEWSWEEK has learned." I'd like to say that I have hope for America if the election gets cancelled, but watching the Democrats keep rolling over...I mean, they couldn't even choose someone who made a clear stand against the last four years of this nightmare when they weren't under that much pressure to do so.

Lincoln insisted that the elections go forward in the midst of a great civil war! The elections may be a farce in terms of any real choices, but how in the world can the State sell this tripe when the dust settles? Isn't this a bit much, even for the jingo-zombies? Or maybe the need for security will sell in Paducah. I'm going to have to listen to Rush and hear what to think about this.

I like this Ruppert article from 7/12: Essay: Postponement of the November Election - by Michael C. Ruppert"...While worded very carefully to suggest that an attack must take place for such a move; I do not see either of the below stories unequivocally state that, if granted, these powers might not also permit elections to be “postponed” on merely a well-publicized threat. Don’t believe the press stories. Read the legislation when it is introduced to see what it says there. If that discretion is included then we are at the edge of an abyss more dangerous than anything we have ever faced. ... Stop. Catch your breaths. Steel your hearts and minds in preparation. Soon we’re all going to find out what we’re made of. If we do not have an election this November then the world we have been fighting to change until tonight will become only a “pleasant” memory compared to the world that will follow." FTW also has a recent article series, "Jurassic Park", the latest of which promises "Stan Goff takes a painful look at the contradictions of Zionism - including the appalling episodes of cooperation between early Zionists and Nazis; the ugly similarities among South African, American, and Israeli racist nationalisms; and the brutal Israeli strategy of water hegemony." I'm only a fairly recent deciple of FTW, and haven't before seen any particular targeting of Israel or Zionism in their essays (unlike, say, whatreallyhappened.com). But assuming they've hit the topic before, that would explain why Smirky/BlofoCo are "sensitive" about Ruppert/FTW. How bout some brave Chimpster post the story there, and see how long before the ADL whips swarm it and/or blofo deletes it? www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/071404_jurassic_park4.shtmlThat new $17 for 3 months total access offer at FTW is mighty tempting. That would bring us right up to the election!

If they postpone the election we either have to pick up guns and march on D.C. (to our probable deaths) or run.

If they postpone the election we either have to pick up guns and march on D.C. (to our probable deaths) or run. Well, for me and Hubby, I guess it will have to be the former. WHERE would we run to? We are a little late in life to start over. (He's 49 and I'm 45 this year.) Somehow, I get the feeling if Idiot Boy gets another 4+ (gawd forbid!) America will be to Canada, what Mexico is to America -- an immigration nightmare. Go or stay... Stay or go... We have no choice but to stay.

America will be to Canada, what Mexico is to America -- an immigration nightmare. Until a few months ago, I thought Canadians would be open to accepting American refugees when the time comes...alas, I am not so confident anymore. I have been posting and reading more Canadian news sites and discussion forums since the last elections and few are even aware of Amerika's current situation. When it is pointed out to them, their responses says much about how they would choose to protect themselves instead of what they could do to help. My feelings do not mean a thing about how a majority of Canadians would actually react when faced with a massive influx of American refugees but there is a possibility they'd not want to rattle the giant sitting next door into anger or reprisal towards them. This feeling arises from reading too many : "We are the greatest federation on earth...We must protect our sovereignty" etc... This boasting and fear are all wrapped up into one little neat package of emotional patriotism. Does it ring a bell anyone ? Much of this boasting and fear is presently directed towards Québec separatists who have just elected 54 of their representatives to the Canadian parliament, but the same mantra could easily be turned towards any 'outsider' or event who'd rock the Canadian sense of stability too much. My feeling is that given a choice between closing their borders in return for keeping their 'sovereignty' or extending a helping hand and expect American interference, they'd choose the former. This thread is about nightmares and I hope this is all it is. I will wake up soon and find out I was completely off mark and wrong about all of it. If not, I may find myself joining many Americans in trying to leave the continent altogether.
