I was watching the CSPAN replay of the 911 whitewash commish press conference from last thursday 6/17. I thought this exchange was interesting. Sorry no link, I'm transcribing from tivo recording, but I'm sure the transcript can be found. Levine: Hello, Samantha Levine from US News and World Report. Umm, how concerned are you about some of the stark differences between the May 2003 testimony, and what we're hearing now? And does that cast any shadows over the information we're now receiving? Does it, you know, introduce any doubt for you as to the veracity of what we're hearing today?
Hamilton: I'm sorry I didn't hear, the testimony from when?
Levine: From last May.
Hamilton: Oh, oh, from NORAD and FAA?
Kean: Yeah, the interesting thing is, the people who, uh, who gave us that testimony have now told us how much the commission has helped them to learn the facts (smiles) which, uh, I guess I'm glad about. Uh, but the um, but he is uh, the point is I guess that all of the policy makers on that day are now in total accord with our staff statements; that the commission's work is now the authoritative story and agreed to by all parties as the authoritative story. Well, that's nice.
