Russian Jews make Forbes list
At least nine Jewish tycoons made a list of 36 Russian billionaires published by the Russian edition of Forbes magazine.
Heading the Forbes ranking are three Jewish oil magnates, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Roman Abramovich and Viktor Vekselberg. The wealth of Russia’s 36 billionaires is $110 billion, or a quarter of the country’s gross domestic product. By comparison, the fortunes of the 277 U.S. billionaires amount to merely 6 percent of America’s GDP, Forbes indicated.
The publication has drawn criticism from members of the business community for the methods it used in estimating the tycoons’ wealth.
