Settlers storm Beit Furik neighborhoodAmin Abu Warda, Nablus 04:00 pm 14.02.06 Monday evening, Palestinian villagers in Beit Furik, east of Nablus, were stormed by a group of Israeli settlers. A PNN reporter spoke with Munadel Hanany, a resident of the Kherbetana neighborhood where the attacks occurred. Hanany explained that a group of approximately 50 settlers stormed the area, destroying the villagers’ property and fresh water springs.Hanany said initially, Israeli soldiers did not intervene to stop the violence. However, the Israeli army eventually called in Israeli police enforcements, which set up a checkpoint between the Israeli settlers and Beit Furik villagers. The mayor of Beit Furik condemned the vandalism and suggested that these violent attacks are designed to intimidate the Palestinians and force them to leave their lands. He said the municipality keeps track of all settler violence in order to expose them to the international community.
