<br>JERUSALEM[/b] - Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is determined to forcibly uproot the Jews of Gaza and northern Samaria by the end of this year.
His deputy, Ehud Olmert, insists a wider evacuation of settlements in the rest of Samaria and Judea will follow.
But these threats against the right to settle Israel’s God-given heartland has not deterred thousands of Jews from taking up residence in Judea, Samaria and Gaza (Yesha) over the past 12 months.
According to figures published by Israel’s Interior Ministry, the Jewish population of Yesha increased by 6 percent during 2004.
That number represents 13,798 new residents, Arutz 7 reported.
When asked for their thoughts on Sharon’s plans, Gazan Jews have consistently expressed an unwavering confidence that they will not be torn from their homes, and that his quest to relinquish Israel’s biblical mandate will be the prime minister’s undoing.
