Janet Jackson's pastie gets CBS a $500,000 fine, but hate radio calling Arabs "animals" and this is "free speech."

I know Friday afternoon is a bad time to post this kind of call to action, but it's the first chance I've gotten at the computer today. So....
Wilmington, NC's WGNI-FM is showcasing "The 12 Days of Kwaanza" as part of its Christmas music programming. The song is a favorite of white supremacists and racist talk radio shows, and a particular favorite of "The Black Avenger," Ken Hamblin. My wife and I heard it and were stunned at its naked racism. Unbelievable! We called the program manager and complained, only to be told that the song was "nationally marketed" and they would play it when they d**n well felt like it. Hmpf. So I composed a letter to the station and...well, read more below.
I sent the letter below to the WGNI program director, and forwarded it to their owners, Cumulus Media, the national NAACP, and the national and local sponsors listed on their home page.
So far, no response from anyone except WGNI, who has chosen to feature my letter in their "Hate Mail" section and post a picture of the song's performer all dressed up in Al Jolson blackface. Seems they've decided to revel in their racism instead of acknowledge it and try to correct it.
So. If you're an NC Kossack, or you'd like to strike a holiday blow against proudly overt racism, then please add your voices to mine in protesting this radio station's choice of holiday "humor." Thanks.
Here's some e-mail addresses to get you started.

The letter I sent (and forwarded around):
It has come to my attention that your morning announcers, Craig and Kitty, have decided to play a song called "The 12 Days of Kwanzaa" during your seasonal airing of Christmas music. I object very strongly to your airing of this track. This song is regularly played by racist talk radio hosts, and is well known and loved among the racist and White Supremacist communities. For you to play this kind of horrendously racist material during the Christmas season is insulting beyond words. The song itself, though it is done by an ostensibly black comedian by the name of Shirley Q. Liquor, is tremendously racist in its content. It characterizes black Americans as mentally challenged "gangsta" criminals, welfare recipients, drunks and drug addicts, and even indulges in stereotypes of their eating habits (fried chicken, collard greens, etc).
Here's a snippet of this song's so-called "humor," copied verbatim from a White Supremacist message board:
"On the third day of Kwanzaa...
I went out to the store. I needed beer and cigarettes
but they was closed, so I smashed out the windows, did
a drive-by and cursed em all out.
On the fifth day of Kwanzaa...
My check came in the mail. AFDC! "Thank you Lord" I
said, "come on kids, let's go to the store for some
collard greens, hamhocks and some cheese."
On the eleventh day of Kwanzaa...
I got out on parole. I rolled a big joint, went down
to church and talked all out of my head. Got happy and
shouted, passed out and hollered. They called 911 and
the Lord set me free! Gave my testimony, stepped on
home, didn't even remember where I stayed, I woke up
real hungry and confused. LORD
On the twelfth day of Kwanzaa...
My childrens gathered around me. Lincoln, Alow vera,
Gyne-Lotrimin, LemonJello, OrangeJello, Tinactin,
Tempasia, KMartina, Fallopia, Shi'Thead,
Shameka-Vonquishia, Salmonella, Chlamydia Champagne,
Democtorius, Saskatoon, Cheeto and Skuketia..."
All the song leaves out was references to watermelon and "bluegums."
I have contacted your general manager -- perhaps it was you, though you were not kind enough to identify yourself -- and asked that you stop playing the song because of its racist content, but was informed that the song was "nationally marketed" and you would play it as you see fit.
Fine. I find from your Web site that your national sponsors include Sprint and Starbucks; your local sponsors include the Wilmington Parent Magazine, the Insight Counseling Center, and the Coastal Tumble Gym. I will be contacting them in the next 24 hours to personally complain about your refusal to stop broadcasting racist drivel masquerading as "Christmas humor," most likely by forwarding them this e-mail and personally contacting their CEOs and senior
management.
You will also notice that I have cc'ed this e-mail to the national branch of the NAACP. I will contact the local organization on Church Street to let the local
NAACP leaders know of your choice to play racist Christmas music. I doubt you will appreciate their response.
The sooner you stop playing this song, the sooner you publicly acknowledge your error in placing songs like this in your rotation, and the sooner you publicly apologize to the black community of Southeastern North Carolina, the quicker you can repair your relations with the NAACP and with your sponsors.
