He's one of those new KKK guys-- well they do run the Republican party now, and we are getting KKK lite in the Democratic Party. Isn't Inez Tannenbaum the one who ran for Senate? That's pitting neocon v. neocon. She was highly critical of Senator Hollings honest remarks re: US-Israeli policy, due to the fact that everyone in Washington knows that the war in Iraq was approved due to the hold that pro-Israeli lobbying orgs and political fundraising orgs have on congress and of course the President is conducting the war on behalf of Israel. That is well-known. You would think it should be ok to speak out about this with people dying and all. So a pox on both their houses. She is exactly the wrong person to be taking this issue on. One of those who claim that being opposed to coddling Israel at the expense of all else is tantamount to anti-semitism. This also points up the very bad and unrepresentive means by which the State Edu Boards are chosen. They have more power than the local boards, and increasingly so, and yet they are simply appointed by political insiders. They never have real knowledge of the issues, or concern for children and families but represent special interest groups, and often, edu- contractors. (Here our DLC leadership appointed the head of a cable network, e.g.) The means by which edu-policy is determined must change. The really bad thing is that Anderson County includes Clemson University. You would think that the delegation from Anderson County would be better than that, if they represent Clemson's interests, as well. To learn more about Anderson County: www.worldhistory.com/wiki/A/Anderson-County,-South-Carolina.htm The racial makeup of the county is 81.56% White, 16.59% Black or African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.42% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.40% from other races, and 0.79% from two or more races. 1.11% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
They are all Republicans in this district, and two are Chair and Vice Chair of the Edu Committee, so that is bad!! It may be that they did this to take down Tannenbaum, who is expected to run for Gov. It seems like a real disgrace to Clemson U, that three of their County reps voted to put a KKK-type on the State Board of Education. I think that Clemson should receive negative publicity about this, because clearly, if they had some kind of influence w/ their legislators, which they should and probably do, they wouldn't stand for this. Their reputation should suffer, imho. What do you think? I wonder which three voted to appoint the KKK guy. Both parties are just getting more and more brazen w/ their racism, and neo-confederatism. Very scarey. Don't forget it is the DLC & the Dem Party machine, including Pelosi, which is infusing/imposing Red State philosophies into/onto the Dem Party: Rep. W. Brian White -Dist 6 Anderson Co. Rep. Ronald P. Townsend Dist 7 Abbeville and Anderson Cos. Chair, Education and Public Works Rep. Becky Rogers Martin (Mrs. Johnny Wayne) Dist 8 Anderson & Oconee Cos. Vice Chair, Edu and Public Works Michael D. Thompson
