Welcome to the club ;D ... although I must admit i actually 'banned' myself after having a news report that i had posted (one of the very early reports of torture at Abu Graib), that met ALL the posted criteria at SC, locked and my posting of it publicly criticized for daring to disparage our troops, and then the thread started by someone else, pointing out that the locked report did not violate any of their rules, had their thread not only locked but actually deleted, I decided to remove myself from their tyranny. Maybe we should create a badge of honor for those banned at that site?

Maybe we should create a badge of honor for those banned at that sight? Congrats on the banning POA! You were the dude who roped me here, shortly before I was banned from the AIPAC-Whipped-Chimp. Nana, given that Israelis were/are the torture advisers at Abu.., I guess it follows that BoloNanny (BoardoBoffin?) would seek to silence the matter by nipping it in the bud-- for "disparaging our troops" pffft. But that story had legs they could not supress so I guess the whips gave up, or perhaps they sought to steer the dialog, I don't know I'd have to go read the threads on it and see the tact of the usual suspects.

Well, it finally happened. I got banned from Smirking Chimp, like so many other great posters before me. Don't know why but suspect is was for discussing the concept of left gatekeepers in the context of the Basra agent provocatuer fiasco. Used a slightly altered post from Rigorous Intuition "The trouble with normal" as my touchstone. From the darlings of alternative media, purges usually follow their contributors' binges of unproscribed spelunking into the deep politics of a mass event. If someone like" left gatekeeper x "doesn't distance himself from inquiries that offend mainstream sensibilities he risks the loss of the honourary privileges extended to the pacified blogosphere, and where is he then? And since inquiry isn't his strong suit" left gatekeeper x "regards the theft of the 2004 election as just another "conspiracy theory" and can write with a Bushian lack of irony that he has a "high tolerance level for material I deem appropriate" - making it a sacrificial offering to the incurious middle couldn't have been a tough call. More than truth, such people crave respectability, which they call "credibility" because it conforms to the conventional wisdom of those whose approval they seek. This becomes the capital they believe they trade for "influence," which is nothing more than their place in punditry's pecking order." Maybe we can talk about the concept of left gatekeepers. The above Rigorous Intution post was in reference to Daily Kos. Frankly I think ALL of the "liberal" websites are indicted in the same dynamic, even ones I visit several times a week: Alternet, Common Dreams, Truthout, Counterpunch, etc. For example, the Katrina response was "incompetence" not "ethnic cleansing." And they all have a special allergy for "conspiracy theories" - beleiving in them damages their "credibility." Without which they can't "affect elective politics." Other candidates: David Corn of the Nation, even St. Chomsky.

All the "left" sites appear to be funded and backed by those who wish to propagandize and coral the members of the democratic party.
I thought counterpunch might be an exception, but I saw today that Richard Reich is a contributor?
I think maybe we should start a board devoted to Gatekeepers of the Left.
However, these Gatekeepers really seem to be about eradicating the "left" (as they did in Israel, due to the "left"'s sympathy for Palestinians and opposition to inhumane policies).
So they have positioned themselves as "progressives" and then attempt to stigmatize all who take non-neocon positions as "extremists".
It clearly is orchestrated.
Kos is on someone's payroll. I forget whose-- may have posted it here.
SC likewise has funding/backing from political consulatants whose only interest is furthering NED-types on the Dem side. They want their neocons in power.
David Corn and Michael Kinsley are similar in milketoasting all issues.

Also interesting to note, that thread was started by "megsdad", who I suspect is the excellent columnist Mike Whitney. At least, whenever SC features a Whitney article on their front page, it's always "submitted by megsdad". If they're one and the same, BoloNanny's locking that thread was quite the slap to Whitney! These Zionists are a catty bunch.

A really nasty and repulsive bunch. They make it clear that they don't want us in the Democratic Party-- it's THEIR party. Yuck.
And its not just a coincidence that their repugnant, obnoxious arrogance, as well as their censorship, reflects that of the DLC and the financial backers, and recipients of political money.
I have moved outside the beltway, and I can tell you that the disgust with the Democratic Party for not taking a position against the war is unanimous, and I live now in one of those districts that the elite inside the beltway Party funders supposedly want to attract. Bull-- they don't want to attract voters at all, but simply to control both parties and thus the US.
We are disenfranchised.

I just thought to check up on the old 'Official 9/11 Story' Skeptics thread, and I see it was just too hot for the AIPAC-whipped-chimp.com gatekeepers to handle: 1119 of 1119. SmirkyChimpster New York, New York | Member 148, Joined Nov 20, 2000 | 1623 posts Posted: 2005-09-03 18:12

They call everything a "conspiracy theory" until the AIPAC people write them a memo (when it goes completely mainstream). The people who run that site, and DU are idiots.

Try discussing the central issue of the war and our current disasterous agenda.

Laikamichal is giving me a hard time on the discussion thread about Slobodon Milosevic's death. He insults me and is rude. His arguments are not logical.

Sad, the faithful flock there knows not how whipped they are. "Thank you master, may I have another? You're so wonderful master." Hi all. Haven't checked in here for awhile. Been in Panama Republic, looking at relocation possibilities. Nice country.... think I'll buy it, ahhhahahahhahhaa In reviewing the latest in this thread, I looked at the links to 911 Skeptics Thread www.smirkingchimp.com/viewtopic.php?topic=34081&forum=12and the Theologian/911 thread, www.smirkingchimp.com/viewtopic.php?topic=60299&forum=7(read above in this thread for details) both of which SC had formerly locked, but not deleted. Click on them now. Deleted. The evidence destroyed, The book BURNED. Pathetic. And now we have 911-Truth going mainstream (Charlie Sheen comes out as a Truther, ALEX JONES speaks for several mins on CNN ! ! ! ! He was magnificent, not to be missed! ! ! see the stories, watch the videos etc at 911blogger.com And all SC can do is delete the evidence of their former censorship of this issue, because of course it isn't "good for Israel", pfft.

I'm not sure if this is the thread you're talking about: www.smirkingchimp.com/viewtopic.php?topic=63778&forum=7&start=50but I remember Laikamichal being a DLC or ADL shill. I know, I know; same difference. I would insert a little rant about being tired of those like Laikmichal aiding and abetting the selling out of this country to foreign interests, but these people have no conscious and are so convinced the b.s. they're peddling is truth, there's no point. Anyway, from the little I've read about the Bosnian conflict, it's clear it was the opening act for the 'New American Century' and is one of the many things I've learned about in the past 3 years that made me see through the facade we've been presented about the Clintons and the Democratic Party. Clinton also didn't help himself with those he surrounded himself with. Especially his State Dept., which was stacked with Zionazis that were helping move forward the Sept. 11th plan and the neocon hijacking of this country.
