CNN Signs Former GOP Rep. J.C. Watts
CNN has found a new conservative commentator: Former Republican congressman J.C. Watts Jr. "will join CNN as a regular contributor to offer analysis on politics and policy for programs throughout the network," Jon Klein announced today.
Klein said: "J.C. is one of the most respected and effective conservative communicators in the nation's capital. We are glad to welcome him to the CNN team and look forward to his insightful contributions to our network."
The P.R. says Watts is also a Republican strategist and a successful businessman. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in journalism...

CNNI Cancels Diplomatic License
CNN International has cancelled Diplomatic License, a weekly program focusing on the United Nations.
"CNN has decided to cancel Diplomatic License," clearly disappointed host Richard Roth told viewers last weekend. "Next week will be our last program. We invite you to send us your comments either way, disappointment or good riddance." He repeated the e-mail address, Diplomatic.License@CNN.com, twice.
"We have been on CNN for twelve and a half years with great freedom offered by CNN management, and next week it will all come to an end," Roth said, adding: "Where is the committee to protect shows when you need one?"
"With a combative U.S. UN rep, Security Council resolutions dealing with the prospect of a nuclear Iran, and UN peacekeepers dying in Haiti, you could make a very strong case that the world needs UN news, and that CNN needs to provide it," an equally disappointed CNN staffer remarked to TVNewser. "I guess Ted Turner's network's internationalism is officially dead."
